Paulinho Barcellos

Brazilian Guitar Player

Biography

Paulinho started playing guitar at the age of 14 and at 17, after studying with important names from the Brazilian scene, such as Zezé, Walter Rezende, Ary Piassarolo and Edilson Ávila, took over the solo guitar of the precursor band of Hard Rock Gaúcho, the Valhala band .

In the following year he founded Frutos da Crise, one of the most respected bands of the southern Brazilian Rock, in that national boom of the 80´s. At the end of 88 he moved to London, where he lived until 90, forming the band Studio 77 with British and South Africans. Back in Brazil, he continues his guitarist career playing in bands like Coverboys, Cine Privê, Bella Mau, etc.

Since 2000, he has also dedicated himself to musical production, jingles and tracks, including being responsible for creating the tracks for the first Basso Straps catalog.

Currently, in addition to being a producer and teacher, Paulinho continues his instrumental work and acts as a side man for several artists. In this year of 2020 he is releasing his instrumental album "My World" with the participation of several guitarists, such as Jamie Glaser (Chick Corea, Jean Luc Ponty), Grecco Buratto (Shakira, Enrique Iglesias), Sidey Linhares (Black Rio), Pedro Tagliani (Raiz de Pedra), Ciro Moreau (Open Station) and Leandro Boeira (solo artist). The idea is to show the different forms of expression through the instrument.
